ABOUT US
OUR TEAM
Founded in 2004 by two professionals with over 30 years experience in successfully developing business for companies in Europe, Novoptim offers support at every phase in development: from seed to expansion.
Séverine Tamas-Lhoustau
Severine has a Master Degree from INSA - Toulouse.
Severine is a Sales and Marketing professional with over 15 years experience
in the Life Science market. She was involved in the successful introduction
of SPR biosensors for interaction analysis by the now acknowledged world leader
in this technology, the Swedish company Biacore AB. By adopting an initial
strategy of placing instruments at key opinion leaders' sites, Severine
successfully developed sales with an average 20% growth per year.
She then managed Biacore's Southern Europe subsidiary, covering France, Italy,
Spain and Portugal and turned this region into a profitable business.
The Southern Europe subsidiary contributed significantly to the success
of the company when it was introduced to the stock market in 1996.
Severine then moved to strategic marketing as worldwide Marketing Director.
She authored the global marketing plan and was responsible for investigations
into new business opportunities, product launches and development of sales
tools to support the sales force. During this period, she launched 3 new
instruments, implemented a new positioning campaign and organized strategic
co-marketing activities with major vendors in the Life Science market.
Biacore remains today the worldwide leader in SPR-biosensor technology with
more then 70% market share.
Severine then moved on to form her own business consulting company specializing
in projects for the life science market prior to founding Novoptim.
Ramin Chaybani
Ramin has a PhD in Molecular Biology from Paris University (Jussieu).
Ramin has more than 15 years experience in commercialization of
innovative products. Ramin started his career at Pharmacia Biotech
(now GE Healthcare) as a Product manager, where he developed sales in France
for the molecular Biology products both instrumentation and reagents.
He held various positions in European and U.S companies where he had
responsibility for sales and business development in Southern Europe.
In the mid 90s, at Kodak Scientific Imaging, Ramin set up a distribution
channel to transfer sale and support of innovative digital imaging product
portfolio from Kodak subsidiaries in Southern Europe to Value Adding Resellers.
He then moved to NEN Life Sciences (now part of PE) where he was instrumental
in re-engineering of sales force in order to redirect sales from old
(radio labeled molecules) to new markets (fluorescence and chemiluminescence).
At Affymetrix Ramin established presence in the Southern part of Europe and
developed sales and strong relationship in both academic as well as industrial accounts.
He then moved to Febit where he acted as a Business Development consultant
and was proactive in initiating collaboration for the innovative Geniom technology.
Prior to co-founding Novoptim with Severine, Ramin had set up a consultancy firm,
Novoxyan, to assist European Biotech companies in their Business Development
endeavors in the area of Microarray technology.
